My healing story...

My healing journey started when I was diagnosed with a rare women’s health condition. I had never heard of it before and did not know what to expect – if I would heal or remain in pain. Doctors either could not give me straight answers or passed me off to specialists who seemed to have one-size-fits-all approaches.

I began to lose hope. My relationships suffered, I had to walk away from a career I was passionate about because I could not consistently function, and I completely lost myself. I was then diagnosed with PTSD and insomnia in result of my diminishing physical health. I obsessively explored all sorts of doctors and alternative medical practitioners trying to find answers and solutions. It felt like a scavenger hunt that I did not sign up for.

And all the while I was trying to figure out my health problems, I was facing severe narcissistic abuse from my boyfriend (now ex, thankfully) as well as from both of my parents. I desperately needed them to support me, and instead they actually shamed me, verbally & emotionally abused me, dismissed me, and humiliated me. It is hard to come to terms with the fact that the people who I thought would stand by me when I was down, actually made my situation worse. I chose to set boundaries and no longer let people into my life who treat me less than I deserve, whether I am thriving or struggling.  It was a learning lesson to stand up for myself and be more careful about who I trust or let in.

To heal, I traveled to get closer to nature! Internationally, I went to Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, and Norway. In the United States, I went to Sedona, San Antonio, and national parks in California, Washington, and Oregon. I joined a local hot yoga studio and went 3-5 times per week. I started believing in the moon, astrology, and the power of the universe. I told myself I would heal. I read books on Ayurvedic lifestyle, nutrition, self-love, meditation & breathwork, spirituality, narcissism, and the mind-body-spirit connection. And I leaned into my best friends who love me unconditionally and genuinely want what is best for me.

It is my mission now to heal others as I healed myself. Some of the challenges I notice within our society are:

  • MISSING CONNECTION / LONLINESS

  • SELF-HATRED / MAJOR SELF-CRITICISM

  • ABUSIVE / TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

  • PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH STRUGGLES

  • INSECURITY / COMPARING SELF TO OTHERS

  • NOT EMBRACING ONE’S PLACE IN THE WORLD / FEELING JUDGED IN A DRASTICALLY EVOLVING SOCIETY

I am a certified Life & Wellness Coach and created Morning Rain Life Coaching & Journaling to provide personal and community mindfulness, self-reflection, healing, and connection. I do not believe in the limitations of the Western medical system or the idea that anyone is stuck in their misery. I think it is up to the right support system because healing is a very sacred part of the life path. I am excited for you find a place with me at Morning Rain and re-discover the incredible self that makes you, YOU.
